Packing and unpacking service for your move
Packing is the part of a move that takes the longest and that people put off the most. We take it off your hands entirely: boxes and materials come with us, your glassware and books go into the box properly protected, everything is labelled by room, and in your new home we unpack it again.
What the packing service covers
The packing service is usually part of our full-service move — the white glove option, where we handle everything from start to finish. You can also book it on its own, for instance just the kitchen and the fragile items, while you do the rest.
We arrive with everything needed: moving boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, markers and labels. You don’t have to buy anything in advance, and you’re not left with a pile of unused material afterwards.
What we pack for you
Glassware and crockery
Glasses, plates and cups are wrapped individually in packing paper and stood upright in the box, with padding between the layers. This is the most breakage-prone part of any move and gets the most attention.
Kitchen contents
Pans, cutlery, small appliances and store cupboards. The kitchen is almost always the room that produces the most boxes.
Books and paperwork
In smaller boxes, because books get heavier than people expect. That keeps the boxes liftable and the bottoms intact.
Cupboard and sideboard contents
What’s inside sideboards, display cabinets, wall units and drawers comes out per cupboard and goes back in per cupboard — so it stays together in your new home.
Personal belongings
Clothing, framed photos, jewellery and things that matter to you. Discreetly and carefully — and of course you may prefer to pack certain things yourself.
Mattresses, TVs and screens
Mattresses in protective covers, televisions and monitors wrapped and carried upright.
Large furniture
Cabinets, sofas and tables are wrapped in bubble wrap and moving blankets, so corners and edges don’t get damaged en route.
White goods
Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and fridge are disconnected and made transport-ready — drum secured, hoses removed and taken along.
Labelling: the part that decides your unpacking day
Every box gets a label showing which room it belongs in and what’s inside. Fragile boxes are marked separately.
That means our movers put each box straight into the right room in your new home, rather than stacking everything in the hallway. It saves hours on the day itself — and it saves the search for the box with the coffee machine in it.
Full or partial packing
Most customers choose the full packing service: we pack the entire contents of the home and you do nothing. Others have us handle only the laborious or fragile parts — the kitchen, the glassware, the display cabinet — and pack clothes and books themselves to keep costs down. Either works, and we agree the split in advance.
Unpacking in your new home
The unpacking service is the mirror image: boxes are opened in the room they belong to, the contents go into the cupboards, and we take the packing material and empty boxes away with us. You start your first evening in a home that’s finished, not in a maze of cardboard.
You can also opt for partial unpacking — just the kitchen and bedrooms, say, so you can cook and sleep straight away and do the rest at your own pace.
Clearing out and disposal
A move is the natural moment to get rid of things. While packing, we go through with you what’s coming and what isn’t. For anything you’re not taking we can arrange disposal, so your old place can be handed over empty without you making a trip to the recycling centre.
Crew size and timing
Packing should be a calm, orderly process — so we put enough people on it, which keeps it from overrunning and keeps the day relaxed for you.

Packing often happens the day before the move, so moving day itself runs smoothly and without time pressure.
What does the packing service cost?
The price is driven by volume: how much there is and how much of it is fragile. We charge on the hourly rate per mover, so a small flat with two packers costs considerably less than a detached house with six.

Do I need to buy boxes and packing material myself?
No. We bring moving boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape and labels. Boxes are charged according to use and packing materials start from €50, so you don’t pay for what you didn’t need.
How long does it take to pack a home?
It depends on the volume. Two to three packers usually do a small flat in part of a day; a large or detached house takes four to six people and sometimes two days. We often pack the day before the move.
Do you pack personal belongings too?
Yes, discreetly and carefully. If you’d rather handle certain things yourself — documents, jewellery, sentimental items — we simply set those aside.
What happens to my washing machine and fridge?
We disconnect them and make them transport-ready: drum secured, hoses removed and taken along. In your new home we put them back in place.
Can I have just the kitchen packed?
Certainly. Many customers have us do the laborious and breakable parts and pack clothes and books themselves. We agree that in advance.
Do you unpack as well?
Yes. With the unpacking service the contents go into the cupboards and we take the empty boxes and packing material away. You can also have just the kitchen and bedrooms unpacked.
I have a full loft and shed. Is that a problem?
Not a problem, but it does take extra time — those are the spaces where a move overruns in practice. Mention them when you enquire and we’ll plan crew for it.
Can you dispose of things I’m not taking?
Yes. While packing we go through with you what stays and what can go, and arrange disposal.
Are my belongings insured while being packed and moved?
Yes, your household goods are insured during the move up to €200,000 per claim. Exact terms are in your quote and in our terms.
